The B13 was introduced in 1990 and retained
many of the B12's ideas but in a more rounded, up-to-date body. It was
particularly successful in the United States where the sports model two-door
Sentra SE-R was marketed by Nissan of America. The car is still being made in
Mexico, where is it sold as the Tsuru, for domestic and export markets
(in Chile and Peru as Nissan V16), and is quite popular
among cab drivers for its reliability and low maintenance costs.
Meanwhile for Taiwan market, it is known as the Nissan 331.
The sedan came standard with the fuel
injected 110 hp 1.6 L GA16DE engine. It came in the base model, E, XE, GXE, SE,
And Limited Edition. The GXE and Limited Edition came with power package such
as power windows/locks/mirrors while the XE, SE, SE-R came with standard or
optional sunroof and alloy wheels. Four door models came with front motorized
shoulder seatbelts.
While In the Philippines The B13 was released
in jx, lec, EX Saloon, Super Saloon and SE Saloon variants. The Super Saloon
had all power features. The SE-Saloon came as a Limited edition equipped with
four wheel disc brakes and ABS. Both SE and Super Saloon come standard with the
GA16DE
The B13 SuperSaloon and SE Saloon came with
the GA16DE fuel injected engine (top of the line engine for the Philippine
market) which is comparable to the U.S Spec B13 SE Limited with loaded options.
These models are not equipped with emissions equipment - catalytic converters
and 02 Sensors as well as EGR
The LEC version comes with the standard GA13
Carburated engine as well as the LEC Ps (Power Steering model) and the JX comes
with the GA14 carburated engine
The B13 Sunny was available with engines
ranging from the underwhelming carbie 1.3L GA13DS (left) to the 1.8L SR18DE
(right), a sister engine to the SR20. The SR18DE differs from the SR20DE in
that it has a narrower bore (82.5mm versus 86mm) and higher compression.
All Japanese Sunny sedans were four-doors,
but there were a number of exterior trim configurations not available in
America. Japan's hottest B13 Sunny was
the 1800 GT-S saloon, with four-wheel disk brakes, limited-slip
differential (likely the same as the VLSD B13 SE-R unit), stiffer suspension,
and sport interior. The GT-S is as
uncommon as SE-R, but it was obviously the model to have. It's SR18DE put
out 138hp at 6400rpm and 123ft-lb of torque at 4800rpm, numbers not far off the
USDM SR20DE.

is much sportier than you'll find in a North American Sentra four-door. What's
cool is three-spoke steering wheel, black cloth door inserts, and NX2000 seats.

They might be a nice touch for a 1991-1992 SE-R to match the silver-grey front
lip of the front .During the 1992-1993 Sunny mid-life update, some models
received a very classy front bumper with cues similar to the Infiniti I30
sedan. Cars with this front bumper also carry very slick side skirts.
Since then B13 Sunny front bumpers,
headlights, grilles, and side skirts have become a popular swap for American
Sentra drivers.
In Mexico, the Nissan Tsuru is still the best
selling car in its category as it's much bigger and cheaper in maintenance than
its direct competitors like Volkswagen Pointer and the Chevrolet Chevy C2. The
2007 model is available in 2 trims: the GS 1 and GS 2. Both trims use a 1.6
liter 16-valve (ga16dne) engine producing 105 hp (78 kW) and can be equipped
with an automatic gear-box and air-conditioning. A 2007 Nissan Tsuru GS1 costs
approximately USD 9,500.
In Malaysia, known as Nissan Sentra Super
Saloon with GA16DE fitted engine with two version (1st models & last
models), it is widely used as a taxi in Genting Highlands, due to its engine
durability and fuel efficiency in such conditions.
There are two versions of Nissan Sunny, the
GTS generation 1 and the GTS generation 2. The GTS generation 1 consists of the
glass headlights, generation 1 front bumper (with 2 projector lamps), side
skirts, rear chin, sunny grille and the rear garnish. The GTS generation 2
consists of the plastic headlights, generation 2 front bumper (with 4 fog
lamps), side skirts, rear bumper, sentra grille and the rear garnish. There are
some differences in other parts like the rear garnish and the side skirts.

Is for in Chile is the same basic car only
with minor cosmetic changes and mechanical downgrades to make it cheaper, such
as non-power steering, downgraded interior trim, a downgraded braking system,
and a mechanical clutch instead of a hydraulic one. More recent models have
received a Renault-built hydraulic clutch. Its affordable price make it popular
among local taxi drivers in Mexico, South America, Central America, and the
Caribbean.Many units of the Nissan V16 in Chile are said to have lasted at least
500.000 or up to 700.000km under worst condition without opening the engine
block for adjustments.

The Y10 wagon (and pickup):
In Latin America and southeast Asia, there
was the wagon built in Mexico for export that seems to share a lot of DNA with
the B13 and its N14 cousins. Known as the Y10 platform, it was called the
Tsubame in the Americas and the Wingroad or AD Wagon elsewhere. A pickup
version of the Y10, called the AD Resort, was sold in the Phillipines.
